COMMUNITY SERVICE HOURS: Community service forms can be found in the high school guidance foyer.  If you are in need of hours, please see Ina Holland.

Juniors and Seniors:

Parents: Research shows that attendance is the single most important factor in school success.  Here's some things you can do to improve your Childs' attendance:

  • Talk with your child about why it's important to attend school regularly.
  • Avoid scheduling family trips or doctor appointments during school hours.
  • Make sure your child stays healthy by getting enough sleep.
  • Don't accept excuses for why your child "must" miss or be late to school.
  • Discuss with your child what happened at school each day.
  • Support school rules and consequences for skipping class and/or being tardy.
  • Show your child why education is important.  Give examples of how education helps people succeed.

Seniors:  I have posted a college guide on "news".  It includes information on the college application process, financial aid, and a sample resume. Don't forget to sign up for the ACT and/or SAT. You and your parent should sign up for a FAFSA pin number.  You will find a link for the FAFSA pin under the link section of the guidance website.

Juniors:  You should be working on your community service hours.  Remember you should earn at least 50 by the end of your junior year.  You will be taking the official ACT test at West Limestone on April 23, 2014.  I have practice ACT test material in guidance.

Sophomores:  You are earning credit toward graduation, which will be posted on your official high school transcript.  If you are not doing so already, please consider becoming active in sports, clubs, and/or community activities.  It is also important to start working on your ACT/SAT test taking skills.  You should be working on your community service hours.  Remember you have to earn at least 25 hours by the end of your sophomore year.

Freshmen:  Welcome to high school!  Starting in the 9th grade you will be earning credit, which will be posted to your transcript.  All subjects count towards your Grade Point Average (GPA). Get involved. Become active in sports, clubs, and/or community activities.

Remember, if you have any questions and/or concerns, please call or email.
